A little 'shot' of confidence

I'm not convinced that split shot spook fish, but I am convinced that bouncing a small shiny silver split shot close to trout doesn't help your hook-up ratio.  These Stix-N-Stonez weights are non-toxic, have a dull earth tone finish, and can provide that extra confidence boost for the fly fisherman, and sometimes a little confidence in your presentaion is all you need.

You can check out the entire Boss Tin product line here.

  1. I've been using these for about a year now. Perhaps you noticed me using these when we last fished together? My only complaint about them is that they are hard to remove. If you squeeze them with your forceps on the seam, that usually does the job.

Once my package of Boss Tin Stix-n-Stonez has been used up I am going to switch to the "Non Toxic Camo Double Cut Split Shot" that Wapsi is now producing. With the double cut, the shot is much easier to remove and reuse.

  2. Yeah the Stix-N-Stonez are a little tough to remove but they sure do grip the tippet nicely. I really like to use them if I need to add a little weight th the tippet between the dropper and point fly since there is no knot to keep the shot in place. I'll also have to check out Waspi's camo shots.
